The Nessa Dressa

A secret: Every dress that I create for my best friend Vanessa, whether it comes into reality or not, I refer to as a "Nessa Dressa" in my head. The girl doesn't know it, but she's a huge inspiration to my designs.

Let's get onto her perhaps-prom-dress, as well as another example of my photoshop skills.

The image cut off at the side, but as per usual, I put it up here for the 'gist'. I want her to look a bit like Molly Ringwald.

Is it strange that I've chosen an inspiration for her overall look for prom? maybe.

How Bout It Then?

Bad editing, but you get the idea. Buy a squaredancing crinoline, attach hooks and eyes, and then I can take it off to dance.
Oui ou Non?

To Prom Or Not To Prom?

My first time ever using photo shop to do an illustration. Not good, and I used a template, but it could have been worse. This is my other idea for prom, if I even attend.
I was thinking of making the bottom detachable, to make it easier to dance in. At first I thought the bottom would be tulle, but now that I've drawn this, I think it would be cool to have a layer or two of tulle, or maybe just have a few translucent layers of chiffon! Either way if would be see through to whatever amazing shoes I'd be wearing, and be cool for the grad fashion show next year. Is it sad that I'm considering that far ahead already? no? cool.
Or I could just go with the obvious idea and make it lots and lots of tulle. But that sounds super-sub-par now.

I'll get right to it then.

No introductions, let's get straight to the threads and I'll make up the rest as I go along.

An elementary school teacher, celebrating the story of Noah's Ark, the only way she knows how: with a festive vest.

A girl who was most definitely not meant to be living in suburbia. Also, she was never meant to mess around on photoshop.

In my head i call it "Courtney Love Goes To The Beach".

Vanessa and I are apparently both going to prom, as of right now. So here's our current inspirations for ours dresses that I now have the responsibility to make. Fuck.

For Vanessa, but no black, more baby blue and baby pink. And perhaps, just perhaps, a bit more crinoline. This girl reminds me of Molly Ringwald from The Breakfast Club, and I like it.

For me. I was thinking of doing a mermaid-tail style, in perhaps a Dark eggplant colour, but that would be.... hard. And this would be easier? I bet not, but enough of the internal dialogue. This one is chic, much more of a red-carpet look than an average prom dress, which is what I'm going for. I do feel a bit bad for all the Vic High Girls, being outshone on their own prom by two girls from a hick town.

Not that bad, of course.
